GoTrain Industry is an RTO approved by the national rail operator Pacific National to deliver Track Safety Awareness training online.
This course will provide personal safety training for any person who is working on or around the rail track. This safety training is compulsory for any person entering a rail reserve area and when working on the track or within three (3) metres of the nearest running rail.
The constant need to apply Safeworking practices when working on or about the Permanent Way (track) cannot be over emphasised because of the nature of the work and the danger, which is always present. All work on track or any time you or the machinery you are working with is in danger of being struck, or any time an obstruction is placed on the line it must be protected as prescribed by the Safeworking practices contained within the Book of Rules.
These practices provide for the sharing of track occupancy between trains and track maintenance staff in a way, which protects the safety of all persons and property whilst still allowing effective operations with minimum delays to traffic.
Rail Safety Awareness programs provide three separate Safeworking qualifications:
- Level 1 - Basic Track Safety Induction
- Level 2 - Track Protection Certificate (not currently offered)
- Level 3 - Safeworking Certificate (not currently offered)
